Finland
Finland felt like stepping into a postcard — endless forests and mirror‑still lakes. August in Helsinki was the perfect reset button. After sweating through NYC’s summer heat, mid‑60s hoodie weather felt like a luxury. The air was crisp, the light soft, and everything seemed to move at a slower, more deliberate pace. Helsinki had this calm rhythm: people biking along the waterfront, cafés spilling out onto cobblestone streets, and saunas tucked into every corner like secret sanctuaries.
One of the best parts of the trip was the people. One night in a pub I somehow found myself surrounded by scientists — honestly, the most I’ve ever met at one time, and it was dope. We spent hours talking about wild sci‑fi hypotheticals: time‑travel paradoxes, black holes, and alternative suns. They actually humored me as I went down every rabbit hole, and I left those conversations feeling smarter and slightly more confused (in the best way).
The highlight? Visiting a lakeside sauna and jumping straight into freezing water afterward. I thought my heart stopped for a second, but it was oddly refreshing, like a shock to the system. Finland has this way of slowing you down and reminding you to breathe. All in all, it was a great trip — I hope you enjoy the photography.
